Get To Know – Gyles

Firefly want to do a big shout-out to one of our latest acquisitions. Gyles has just finished his first month working with Firefly, bringing flair and energy to the Business Development position. With ambitious ideas and a passion for football from his UK roots, Gyles has quickly become a part of the Firefly family. Let’s get stuck in and get to know Gyles a little more.

1. Who are you, and what’s your position at Firefly?

Gyles Foster, Business Development Manager

2. Why did you choose Firefly?

I already knew them, and had seen the incredible work that they were doing. It was a relationship built over time that ended in me coming to work here.

3. What about Firefly makes you the most excited?

The ability to be part of something that’s bigger than me. The vision of the company is something that aligns with my values. I want to grow as a person, so the self-development opportunities are huge. A combination of that, and being a part of an organisation working towards a goal that’s bigger than anything anyone can imagine.

4. Who in your life inspires you?

My dad. He was like me, finished school and started work at 16. He’s incredibly successful and worked for everything he’s got, he wasn’t given anything. That inspires me to work hard.

5. Pick three people you’d have around for dinner. Who would they be and why pick them?

David Attenborough, because I find him so interesting and he’s got so much knowledge. Then my little brother and sister because I haven’t seen them in a while.

6. You’re in charge of throwing a themed party at the office. What’s your chosen theme?

I went to a mean Misfits party at Casette 9 once, so I’d throw a Misfits party.

7. What’s your go to drink?

I’m straight beer. Get a pint. They don’t serve it over here, but I’m a fan of Carling over in the UK. They don’t export sadly.

8. You get to choose a superpower. What would you choose and how would you use it?

Control time. I’d love to be able to live some pretty cool moments again.

9. Worst movie you’ve seen.

The Fast and Furious series is absolute rubbish.
